Sean Bean, also known for his role of Boromir in the Lords of the Rings trilogy, has landed a role in the new movie The Brothers Grimm: Snow White. The 52-year-old British actor has been cast as the father of the princess according to The Hollywood Reporter.
If the story is similar to the original Snow White, it means Bean’s character is this movie will have a similar fate to that of Boromir in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. The movie will also star Julia Roberts as evil stepmother, Lily Collins as Snow White and Arnie Hammer as prince.
The Brothers Grimm: Snow White is expected to be a dark version of this famous fairytale. Relativity Media is not the only studio working on a Snow White remake, Universal and Disney are also working on a remake of the old classic.
The Brothers Grimm: Snow White is being directed by Tarsem Singh and is scheduled for a March 2012 release. Initially the movie was supposed to enter the cinemas in July 2012, but after Universal pushed forward the release date of their Snow White movie, Relativity responded by pushing forward their own release date.
