Popular PopCap games on their way to Facebook

It’s probably no surprise to anyone, but good news regardless; two fan-favorites of PopCap are most probably heading to Facebook. We are talking about Plants vs Zombies and Peggle, two games that can keep you entertained for hours of play.

An Electronic Arts presentation contained slides that mentioned Plants vs Zombies and Peggle coming to Facebook next to other EA games such as Risk Factions and The Sims Social. The presentation showed Plants vs Zombies and Peggle logos next to text about top IPs from EA and Popcap coming to Facebook. It seems this is a pretty clear indication of what’s to come.

It’s probably not a very big surprise that these games are coming to Facebook, since PopCap has already released great versions of Bejeweled as well as Zuma on the platform. Plants vs Zombies already made its social network debut on Renren, a Chinese Facebook clone. A conversion to Facebook would seem logical and relatively easy to implement.

PopCap is famous for releasing many popular, addicting games that are very easy to play. The company has been acquired by Electronic Arts earlier this month, after a $750 million bid. The total amount could be increased to $1.3 billion and it’s Electronic Arts’ biggest acquisition yet.

Electronic Arts has been developing games for Facebook for a while, EA’s developer PlayFish is dedicated to developing social games.
